Right, one of the classics. "Display won't turn on" covers a lot of ground, so let's narrow it down quickly.
First, the obvious: is the battery actually charged? Not just "was plugged in" charged, but confirmed-charged. Some batteries will show a full LED ring and still be at 0% if there's a cell issue.
If the battery's fine, the most common culprits are connector issues. Unplug every cable you can access, give the contacts a look for corrosion or dirt, and reconnect firmly.
@calvintys found that on some bikes,
unplugging everything and reconnecting was enough to wake a completely dead system after the LCD panel failed to initialise on first connection.
If you're on a TQ-powered bike, there's a
specific quirk where plugging the charger into the bike (not the wall) can wake the screen —
@ohiomoto's wife had exactly this, sorted under warranty eventually but that trick bought some time.
Tell us what bike and motor you're running and we can get a lot more specific. Bosch, Shimano, TQ, and Brose all have their own failure modes here.
