• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Hey there I was just wondering if anyone could please assist me with wether or not derestricting my EP8 battery on my YT Decoy will have any adverse effects on the motor’s lifespan and performance and wether the pros outweigh the cons so to speak as I have to pay near $600 Australian dollars for the motor to be derestricted due to the motor needing to be dropped in order to access the wiring as such I was hoping that somebody can please assist me with informing me wether the process of derestricting the motor impacts the lifespan significantly or just minimally?& will the shifting be hampered in anyway? I know very little so any help would be much appreciated 🤙

Hey! This is incorrect. Dont do it like this. Google Emax Tuning, send Markus a message. You only need to order a Shimano Dongle that you can connect to your display. After that you can set anything you want or set it back to default. It also gives you settings so you can for example add the electric Di2 derailleur.
I am riding at 45kmh and I can see that the 720wh battery has 30% after hard shredding of about an hour. I am not noticing any decay on the battery other than a drastic range drop.

🙏4DXP-“ 45kmh sounds exactly what I want..A Shimano Dongle then Emax is on the cards 🤙

I double checked it with AI and it seems that the battery can have a constant output of 1000w with peaks of 1440w. The max software setting possible is 600w. So this is safe. Also it is impossible to race uphill faster than 30kmh or so . Only on flat or down. I have Di2 automatic shifting and it kept working perfectly.
