Scott Patron Tuned 2022.

Today's ride ended like this thanks to a wooden stick that decided to wedge itself between the wheel and the derailleur, right at the very end.

I noticed it immediately because I was going incredibly slowly through a technical section covered in fallen branches and trees. Even though I realized something had jammed and was barely moving, it seems like the half-turn the wheel managed to make was enough to do some serious damage.

How bad do you think this is? Will I need to replace the entire derailleur or do you think anything is salvageable? I'm wondering if I should also change the cassette and chain, though I'm really hoping the cassette is fine since it's less than a year old.

here a video showing the damage:

Best case, new derailleur, mid case new derailleur & hanger, worst case, new derailleur, hanger & chain. Just depends on what is bent, the derailleur is bent, the hanger & chain may or may not be.

It's also unlikely the chain ring is damaged. But you have to do these things properly. This was a stick flicked up by the front wheel two weeks ago.

Sorry, I didn't mean the chainring; I got confused while I was translating. I was actually referring to the cassette (the rear sprockets) that was replaced recently.
I hope it hasn't been chipped.

I saw that the SRAM Eagle X01 12-speed derailleur is supposed to cost around 180€.
I thought it would be worse.

Did the cage of the derailleur go into the wheel spokes?

It's hard to tell from the video... but I'd say best case you just need a new upper jockey wheel. I'd anticipate buying a new derailleur. Inspect the chain, are any of the links twisted? Cassette, same inspect for bent or broken teeth.

I had a good one.... took out 3 spokes, derailleur, UDH, and cassette (broken spider). Another time it was the derailleur and chain. Other times just the derailleur.
