Unanswered Decoy Fork Change and Headset

I am sending the 38 Performance from my Decoy in for warranty due to a creaking CSU. It just so happens I have recently bought a Factory 38. I went to swap the two forks, but I cannot get the Factory fork to sit properly. When I tighten up the head cap, the fork becomes extremely stiff in the headset. I suspect this is something to do with the in built knock block system in the Acros headset. When I removed the original fork, I notice the knock block sits where there would usually be a crown race. I had a tentative go at removing it, but it is extremely tight.

Has anyone had any experience with these headsets? Do you know what I need to make the factory fork work?

Thanks!
