I left my my 2022 Orbea Rise H30 into my local bike shop for a bearing replacement todayand they just contacted me to say there appears to be a small crack in the chainstay.

Ive asked them to rub away the paint to establish if its just the paint or if it is into the metal.

If it is into the metal would it likely weaken the chainstay integrity?

Anyone had a similar issue? Any Orbea warranty experiences?

Thanks

That looks like a crack.
I've just had a frame replacement (not Orbea) and I had to rub all the paint off so the bike shop could prove it to the manufacturer.

Yes, it's a crack. No, I wouldn't ride it.
I've had two cracked aluminum swing arms. One was Santa Cruz, the other was Specialized. They were both replaced in a week.
