I've had COVID twice. Second time not as bad, but first time was a shocker - I was bedridden for a week, then it took about 3 months for the cough to subside and a few more months for my lung capacity to normalise.

Worse though, was my recent bout of pneumonia. That's a proper horrible ailment. I'm still struggling with lung capacity now, but at least the main symptoms were fairly short lived.

I read some history on the Black Plague during the COVID pandemic in a personal attempt to understand symptoms and transmission. I found it interesting that certain groups, from certain areas, avoided the disease. It was somewhat random. Those who had a specific DNA or RNA gene were not affected.

It seems as though COVID-19 is somewhat random also. 🤷🏼‍♂️. Individuals are affected in different ways of severity.
When the Covid pandemic became public we took the precautions. Handwashing, masks, crowd avoidance, hand sanitizer etc.

I’ve always washed my hands on a regular basis …maybe more than most. (Almost ocd levels). My personal behaviour has slightly changed and my awareness of what I touch or where I am is fairly vigilant. Other than my suspected COVID-19 infection I’ve never tested positive since. No symptoms, no long term effects. Lucky I guess … but I still get regular vaccinations.

Don't forget that Covid also mutated, it went from an illnees that was often a killer to the current much milder 24 hour version, in a very short time, thank goodness. It was not only the vaccinations, mask wearing etc. and better treatment that improved outcomes, the virus itself has become more benign.

24 hours. I wish.
Did you by any chance have the current strain of flu that is active. Apparently it is nasty.

I've had flu twice where, at the crisis point, I thought I was about to draw my last breath. I hope I don't get this one, it will make three times in a row!
Starting to become stand-offish. :(
