My 2023 Turbo Levo Gen 3 won't power up when I connect the motor plug to the battery socket. The battery charges normally when I connect the charger to it. Both motor plug and battery socket are clean and dry. No visible damage. Everything is stock. I've wiggled and thumped the motor plug while its inserted into the battery socket so know it is properly connected.

I have the Mastermind TCU so no button battery in the TCU that needs replacing. The User Manual says the Mastermind's internal battery is supposed to be recharged from the main battery even when the bike is shutdown and that it is not interchangeable.

I've put over 1000km on the bike and charged it many times before with no problem. Seems odd that it suddenly quit making contact with no obvious cause.

Anyone else had connection problems between the bike and the battery? Any advice on next steps?

Thanks in advance for all responses.

the Rosenberger connection includes 2 spring loaded pins. If they become stuck you will get no contact. Easy to check and contact cleaner would likely resolve the issue if indeed that is the problem.

Thanks Mikerb in Weymouth.

Turns out that the non-replaceable battery in my TCU is rechargeable via a USB socket on its underside which is accessible if you remove the TCU from the frame.

I learned that from a reading the related threads and by speaking to my local bike shop.

In hindsight the problem was self-inflicted. I had left my bike parked for a couple of weeks with the motor plug disconnected from the battery. Apparently the little battery in the Mastermind TCU charges itself by drawing from the main battery even when the bike is parked. I had inadvertently isolated the main battery from the TCU.

Note that some Turbolevos have a button battery in the TCU which needs to be replaced from time to time. My 2023 Gen 3 with the Mastermind TCU only has the recharge-in-place place battery.
