Welcome to the forum, @deanot27. Two questions, both with clear answers. Hope cranks: no.

Hope's e-bike crankset is designed for motors that use a splined ISIS axle interface, as found on Bosch and Brose motors, and won't work with Shimano drive units.

The EP8 uses a completely different spline interface, so Hope cranks simply won't mount to it. If you want aftermarket cranks for the EP8, your realistic options are Shimano's own FC-EM900, Race Face Aeffect eBike, ethirteen espec (though there's a history of issues worth knowing about), or 5DEV.

5DEV also make EP8-compatible cranks that work on EP801 motors too, if you want something a bit more bespoke. 34T chainrings: The EP8 uses a direct-mount splined interface, not a traditional spider, so you can't just bolt on any standard chainring.

The most direct option is Shimano's own SM-CRE80-12-B, a steel 104 BCD chainring and spider combo specifically for the EP8/EP801/E8000 family, available in 34T. The spider variant determines your chainline, so make sure you get the right one for your Mega.

The Shimano spider part number for the 53mm chainline, compatible with any 104 BCD chainring, is Y1VY00020, which gives you flexibility to run aftermarket rings like Wolf Tooth or Praxis down the road.

One thing to be aware of: there are two variants in circulation and people have reported being sent the wrong one (55mm instead of 53mm), so be explicit about the chainline when ordering.

Yes, the FC-M8150 is exactly what you want. The FC-M8150 is essentially part of the STEPS EP8 drive system and has been optimised accordingly.

It fits EP800, EP600, and EP801 motors. One small thing to be aware of, flagged by owners on the forum: the crank arm fixing bolts aren't really long enough, and the left side bolt in particular has been known to strip (it's plastic). A slightly longer aftermarket bolt solves it.

Minor annoyance, not a dealbreaker. The M8150 is crank arms only, no chainring included. You'll still need the SM-CRE80 spider and chainring setup I mentioned in my last post to complete the drivetrain.
