Rail (750Wh) changing forks.......

Is the crown (I think that's what you call it) on the Zeb bigger for the Rail than what would be on a standard Zeb fork? I think @Rob Rides EMTB mentioned that Trek requested the bigger crown to match the headtube dimensions on the Rail?

So if I changed to a different fork, it would look a bit silly if the new fork had a smaller crown?

IIRC the Rail Zeb with the larger crown is an OEM special supplied only to Trek.

I have Pike Ultimates with the regular crown and my wife's Rail has larger crown forks, both 2022 bikes. Looks fine, you'd only see the difference if your bike's next to another with a larger crown, and even then you probably wouldn't even notice unless you were looking for it.

As above i also changed the forks and to be honest i dont notice or even care for that matter, but i also run different make tyres and wheels front and back as its what i had in the garage
I know that would drive some people mad

Yes! That step between the fork crown and steering tube would drive me crazy . I looked into the Zeb Ultimate and the Trek OEM fits the steering profile better. The son-in-law installed a Fox 38 on his large Rail and the step is obvious …to me. ($1700 cdn btw…I’m gonna re-think this).

I'm waiting to see when the charge 3 damper and debonair+ upgrades become available in the UK before I decide what to do. Not sure I could live with dodgy aesthetics. I know @Rob Rides EMTB special ordered some larger crowns from FOX for his 38's.

I've put Ohlin's RXF 36's on mine with a standard size crown.
They dont look out of place.
