Hi,

My bike came with XT brakes with a Deore Di2 changer attached.

Buttons are too close to my thumb and I keep hitting them 😕

Looked up the switch unit and you can buy it as ISEV-2 or Band On
ISEV-2 version

Looks simple enough - Just unscrew that aluminium piece and attach to an accessory Band On adapter.
Wolf Tooth make one, but various resellers said doesn't work for Di2 😕
Checked the Wolf Tooth website and it specifically states
"ISEV-31.8 and ISEV-22 are NOT compatible with the SW-M8250 and SW-9250 Di2 shifters."
OK - No mention of SW-6250 Di2 😀
Must be OK

Ordered on from Wolf Tooth USA as the only place in-stock ...
Arrived nice and quickly.

Time to fit it.
Remove strangely headed screw that attaces switch to XT brakes caliper.
NO - It can't be removed - the screw is 'riveted' in place (barrel beyond the threads is widened to prevent removal).
Presumably the upgrade version is not fixed like this or you could never attach it !?
Took a junior hacksaw to the little SS screw and took it's strange little head off.

Looked to replace with an M5 hex socket cap head screw, and it won't fit - the body of the switch prevents the screw from being inserted, hence the strangely unique shape of the Shimano one.

The screw also has to be 13mm long, so I took an angle grinder cutoff disc to the head to flatten one side and then to reduce length to 13mm.
Add an M5 SS washer and Bob's your auntie !!

All mounted up nicely and no longer banging my thumb against the sharp little button ends !

So - Doesn't fit, but can be made to fit, with a bit of swearing 🤬
