Chainring question....from a Newbie :)

ezplain why folks are putting a 34/36 on? I know why on a reg bike but I was told that the harder you mash the less you get from the ebike engine...and that it is basically reverse meaning you spin in a sense more than get out of the saddle for example to go faster and faster so the 34 would not really help unless you are out of battery?

Because on a smooth flat surface you will basically spin yourself crazy in top gear before even reaching the 20mph US motor cutoff speed. You outpedal the bike. I think a few more teeth let you maintain a higher speed on flat terrain without sacrificing much on low gearing required for steep hills.
