Chain Wont stay on For no apparent reason

Si I take my bike to the corner store all is well, suddenly it throws the chain through the chain keeper , I wreslte it back on and it does it again Now I have my dinner in hand and Im a ways from home. Only way I could get chain back on was by snapping chain keeper off. Something I hated having to do BUT WTF and the problem aorse form nowhere and persists. Any clue fellas?? I walked it home and Im not touching it till I cool down. Plus it 97degrees and humid.

I had no idea this was a thing but the XTR 90 dollar chain is UNI DIRECTIONAL meaning I put the speedlink on correctly, but the chain was on backwards causing massive damage to chainring, bike and my ankle.
