Chain stay bracket catching on new spider.

I had to replace the spider on my Yamaha PW3-X as it was damaged, I source a FSA replacement, which is different to the original, but fits ok. The problem is because of the shape it now rubs on the chain guide bracket. Anyone got any suggestions on how to resolve? At the moment I've had to leave the chain guide off so I can reassemble, but I'd prefer to leave the guide on. My only thought with the current bracket is to grind it down to make it narrower to stop it touching the new spider.

Yep, give that a try, otherwise MRP probably has a version with a better bracket.

Unfortunately the only place I can find an original is Germany and they don't ship to the UK, so looks like I'll have to grind it down.

You probably got the wrong offest chainring. What did it have and what did you get?

It's not the chairing that's rubbing, it's the spider, it's slightly narrower than the original and rubs on the chain stay bracket that mounts to motor.

So I double checked the new spider and it appears that the wrong version has been shipped, standard not boost, which I assume is why the spider is rubbing on the chain guide bracket. I've organised a replacement, which will hopefully resolve the issue.

Put a washer behind it,or a spacer behind the front ring
