chain ring replacement?

Hello!

Looking to change the chainring on my cube stereo hybrid 625 hpc race so i can back pedal when doing maintenance

unfortunately i dont really know where to start : /

I know a require a spider and a new chainring but not sure where to get the correct one.

changing chainwheel will make no difference to back pedaling................nor am I sure why yu think you need to back pedal to do maintenance. I am aware a chain bath usually fixes to the lower jockey wheel if indeed that is the way you clean your chain but there are many other ways to use degreaser on a chain.
If you insist on backpedalling for maintenance just use a tyre lever or similar pushed into a chainwheel spoke such that the crank arm pushed against it when you rotate the crank back wards.

Personally I find both degreasing and lubing a chain in situ gets degreaser and lube where it is not required...on the jockey wheels, cassette and chainwheel. I remove the back wheel, then take the chain off the chainwheel and let it hang ( mech pushed forward). A small metal container under the hanging chain catches any degreaser etc............and I clean the chain with degreaser in a spray bottle and 2 toothbrushes, pulling the chain through the top jockey wheel until complete........then with water in a spray bottle.........then wipe dry and leave to dry out for a while....then apply lube......then wipe off all the excess oil. Only the top jockey wheel needs wiping together with the chain and the cassette and chainwheel remain clean.
