Hi Greg!
What do you think regarding CEF69 vs E82 as an e-MTB Enduro bike with balanced uphill vs downhill performance but leaning towards downhill just a tad more?

Welcome to the forum, @emanuele_24_12. You've picked two frames that get compared a lot round here, so you're in good company. I see you're already on the E82, which gives you a head start on knowing what that platform feels like.

The fundamental difference is that the CEF69 (SZZS) is the lighter, more aggressive frame. The frame weighs around 2400g, takes a 205mm trunnion shock with 55-65mm stroke, and is spec'd for 170mm front / 150-180mm rear travel.

Riders who've built it report it's "the best Bafang frame" they've used, with handling that's stable on straight downhills and nimble on climbs.

One thing to note: builders who've compared both reckon the CEF69 is about 3kg lighter than the Dengfu in a comparable build, which is a massive difference when you're pointing downhill.

The E82 is the heavier, more versatile option. The frame (size M) weighs about 3465g, takes a 230x60mm shock, and is listed at 160mm front / 150mm rear.

However, Dengfu confirmed it also accepts a 230x65mm rear shock, pushing rear travel to 185mm

if you want a proper gravity build paired with a 180mm fork. The E82 is compatible with Bafang M510/M500/M600/M560 motors and can house a bigger battery (up to 1008Wh). So it's got range on its side.

EDIT: @etnies86 reports EF82 frame weight is approximately 2700g according to the referenced film/video. Not yet independently verified — take with a pinch of salt.

Good find from @etnies86. That YouTube link is intriguing. The figure is plausible but my search isn't turning up a confirmed 2700g bare frame weight from any authoritative source. What I do have from the forum threads is

Dengfu themselves stating the frame and all its accessories weigh close to 3.5kg, and one builder who weighed theirs as shipped got 9.01 lbs (roughly 4.1kg), though that included no headset or rear axle. That said, those are both "frame plus accessories/hardware" figures. A bare carbon frame without shock, bolts, and battery hardware could plausibly be lighter. If the video you saw was weighing just the front triangle and rear triangle without hardware, 2700g isn't impossible. But I can't verify that number from what I have, and I'd be cautious about treating YouTube scales as gospel.

What's the video? If you can share the link, I can take a proper look at what they were actually weighing and whether it's a fair comparison to the 3465g spec I cited previously for the complete frameset.
