Hello Bjorn, yes you can use normal round spacers.
I removed all the Canyon spacers and put the round spacers above the top cap with the rubber plugs in so that the round spacers sit on the rubber plugs, it works fine.

Hello))
Thanx alot for helping me))
i will do the same))
Have you tried the new batteri latch?
mine is arriving next week.
hope that solves the cut out problems))

Yes, I've had the new latch for a few weeks.
It feels more secure and no problems yet.

Sounds good))
The bike is awsome in all ways..
Perfect for any ride

Hello S1mmo. Did you get any photos? I am considering to change my stem also but I don’t know how exactly do it!

The plastic headset cover is the original that came with the bike.
The rubber plugs are made by Acros for Canyon bikes, I got these from Acros in Germany.
The silver spacers and stem are from Hope.

Do you find the oddly shaped top headset cover moves around slightly as the notch no longer aligns with the stem spacers?

Mine has been ok.

It locks into the compression ring below as well so as long as you centre it properly before tightening the headset top bolt it should be fine.

I have replaced mine last week , looks fine but there is a little play in the fork, when I sit on the bike I can feel a little knock in the steering like the fork steering tube moved a little , I have torqued it up correctly. It feels like the plastic top cap( original canyon one ) is too weak and bends in slightly from presssure from the spacers under the stem .
Anyone have this issue ?

I installed one of these, you could give that a try.

They're much stronger the original bendy plastic ones that come on the bike.

I haven't had any trouble with the top cap on my bike and the steering feels a lot firmer now.
