Levo Gen 2 Can the freewheel be changed to XD Driver?

I want to upgrade to SRAM XX1 group set. I have tried to remove the freewheel on my Turbo Levo (standard roval traverse wheels it came with) but it won't come out. Is this because it's not suppose to or because of loads of dirt and gunk has caused it to be extra stiff? How do I make the wheel XD driver compatible?

There is conversion kit from Shimano to XD, check bestbike webshop
It should came right off if you undo a nut on a axle which holds freewheel in place.
However XD driver is weaker design when it comes to transfering higher loads of ebikes so personally would never go to XD, but it is your choice of course.

As above an XD freehub reduces in diameter to enable the smaller cogs of a 12 way cassette to fit. There is therefore a much smaller area of contact between the cassette and freehub than on a standard shimano style freehub. In my book it is a backward step in strength. Who the heck needs 12 gears anyway on an emtb. On my 1x11 I dont think I have ever used the 1st or 11th gear as it is!
