Levo Gen 2 Broken Motor Mount

I removed the motor today from my 2019 Levo and was shocked to see that one of the motor mounting points had snapped. See photo.

I was planning to get the motor overhauled anyway so expecting to be spending close to £400 with postage.

Does anybody know if the case is an available part and if so how much this might add to my bill?

Also, could I have done this while removing it? I didn’t have to apply any force to remove to I doubt it.

Anybody else have any experience of this?

Best bet would be to ask someone like eBike Motor Repairs & Servicing - Homepage as they may have spare used casings from shagged motors, worth a shot.

Had same problem and motor was failing went down the ebike motor centre route cost me £560 but if it was to happen again I would contact specialized first and see how much a new motor would be just had to do a 500 battery that had failed from a 19 Levo and got 25% off a new 700 battery

I think this fault would be covered by the Consumer Protection Act, but your first call should be to Specialized.

Edit: manufacturer liability for faulty design and/or manufacture does not end with the end of the warranty period.

I heard back from motor repair company. A re-case is £98 so going to go with that

Motor serviced, upgraded, re-cased and the bill was £300. Looking forward to rebuilding and getting out for a spin
