Over the years I've bought a bit of gear off Bikester due to the keen prices. With the Covid and Brexit logistic issues, they sort of fell off my radar a bit due to the long delays in getting them over from Germany. However by almost accident (and they were the cheapest by far being 25% cheaper than any of the UK online shops ) I bought a 10Spd Shimano Deore cassette off them expecting to a few weeks before it arrived.

Good news for all, 5 working days and its on my desk, no duties, all VAT sorted and a genuine Shimano part. Has the doomsters days of logistic problems finally been slain of bringing stuff in from the EU ?

I've used them 3 times in the last 2 months. Couple orders were £100+ and another £50ish, all arrived within 5 days :)

They're my go to on searches now.

Sometimes get import duties when buying from shops in mainland Europe and sometimes not ... just the luck of the draw. (And my luck has been bad recently )

Bikester are the only EU ( ie non UK) supplier I use. They always seem to have stock when nobody else in the UK has, their prices are usually keen and I have never been charged any VAT or duty on orders from them.

Received a few items from them today. Not as quick as the other orders placed on the same day, but ordered on am 17th, delivered on 23rd, so not terrible. I personally would have preferred this info at time of ordering.

Yes I ordered thinking Bikester had opened up in the UK a warehouse, alas not so. But to be fair they did say it would be 5- 7 days delivery before I pushed the Kaching button and that delay seems pretty normal from most suppliers covering themselves ( although often it arrives in much less time ).

I think they might have a UK warehouse; I had an item delivered within three days of ordering, and noticed that their returns form had a UK address (Century Logistics, Bury St Edmunds). I'm really impressed with their pricing and service, and will definitely buy from them again.

l received a Shimano crank arm from them last week, no import charges and arrived in under a week.

Perhaps a combined UK returns, certainly mine originated from Germany.

It's way better than it was, that's for sure. Still taking 5x longer than previously though. And the effort required is high. Container shipping times are blessedly moving back closer to the norm IME.

Edited to add, speaking more generally than about bike parts.

I've been waiting a month for some brake fluid and still no idea where it is!

Over the past 2 years I have never waited longer than 5.days,the same with returns, refund issued in 5 days.

Received my SRAM XG 1275 Eagle cassette from Bikester today. 5 working days delivery, no shipping charge, no extra payments for VAT/Customs on receipt. Simple returns process to a UK address if needed. Price the same as in the UK ( except no one has stock in the UK!)
