For mostly tarmac and paved use with only light off-road, you want low rolling resistance above everything else. Aggressive knobblies on tarmac are just dead weight and drag — doubly punishing on an eMTB where range matters.
A Schwalbe Racing Ray front and Racing Ralph rear in a harder compound (Addix Performance or Speed) is the classic choice for this kind of mixed use.
@anfos found that
low rolling resistance combos make a noticeable difference to range on tarmac sections, which tracks perfectly with your usage pattern.
If you want something slightly more capable when the light mob trail gets loose or damp, step up to a Maxxis Rekon front in EXO casing — it rolls reasonably well on hardpack but has enough tread to handle gravel and light dirt without punishing your range too badly.
Avoid DH casings, e-bike specific reinforced sidewalls, and anything labelled "enduro." They're built for punishment your riding isn't going to dish out, and you'll feel the extra resistance every time you're on tarmac.
Width-wise, 2.4 is plenty for your use case. No need to go wider.
