Bashguard?

Annoyingly the chainring in my decoy is sligthly too large to be protected by the bottom of the motor plate. I keep hitting the chainring to rocks and roots. Has anyone added a bash guard to they decoy? Funn seems to make some reasonably priced bashguards that would fit..

frame/bb mount bash guards won't fit a shimano motor.
some 104 bcd chainring mounted bash guards will.
it's really not a great idea though.

Can't you adapt your riding style to reduce hitting the chainring?
