I think the mid life crisis is kicking in and decided it was finally time to get an emtb and get out there.

It's an absolute minefield. I have a budget of £3000 so looking at second hand ones.

So I'm basically trying to get the best I can for my budget and spent the last month going through so many different sites, reading reviews etc.

Decided on a bike I want.

Trek Rail +8. And found a 2024 one on eBay that was just out my budget and bought it. Only for the seller to ignore my messages for their address. So I'm now having to go through the rigmarole of getting my money back. Luckily I have the PayPal buyer protection.

Anyone recommend decent bikes, similar spec to the above and where I could look for second hand ones?

Ebay is total crap for stuff like that these days and not just Ebay there's cons everywhere we all need to be vigilant .

I agree. 3 items I've tried to buy on eBay this month and non have turned up. Got my money back and was told if the item does turn up, I can keep it. So I presume the seller gets to keep the money and PayPal refund me. They're structure really doesn't discourage fake sellers. PayPal surely must be haemorrhaging millions!
Any, moan done, I'll keep looking.
