Installed a new AXS Reverb V2 a couple of weeks ago. After just a few rides it started creaking whenever it isn’t fully extended and I’m seated. Anyone know what’s causing this or how to fix it?

Yeah, that’s my only complaint about the V2. EVERY other dropper seatpost I’ve ever used has had bigger problems, so I’m not too upset. I’ve tried a few different remedies. My favorite is after every couple rides, apply a little silicone grease to the outside, cycle it a few times, then wipe it off.

Ok, I’ll try that. What type of grease do you use, something like SRAM Butter or Slick Honey?
Thanks :)

I was about to post a similar question when I saw this thread.

Is the creaking you mention during the 'ActiveRide' movement? Mine creaks a little and it also clicks audibly.

I also notice the following:
  • It's not solid even at full extension. It was initially, but then developed movement there too. Less movement than when the post is dropped, but still a noticeable amount. I've checked the air pressure which is already at the max of 600psi. I am quite heavy, however.
  • The feeling of the seatpost compressing and rebounding during the ActiveRide movement, it not at all smooth. It feels like there is a lot of stiction. Nothing at all like suspension. I'd be fine with it if it moved smoothly, but it really isn't.
Does that sound similar to others' experiences?

Hey, JC.
Here's an update on my own experience. The creaking occurred early on. I could temporarily solve the problem by rubbing a little silicone grease on the stanchion and cycling it a few times. After a few months I realized that the creak was gone and wouldn't recur, even if I neglected to apply silicone grease. My assumption is that everything is tight when the dropper is new, and it eventually wears in enough so it doesn't creak.

Mine makes a clicking sound when it’s in active mode. Does anyone else have the same issue? I’ve read a few reviews, and it seems this happens even with new units.

The sounds from mine have mostly gone away so long as I keep it clean and occasionally cycle it up and down with some slickoleum grease and wipe off.

Wow I just grease, clean, grease, clean with SRAM butter and the cracking the sound disappeared. Wtf 🙈

Have you tried the Joe's or Stan's lube specifically for droppers and fork/shock stanchions?
