Hi all. Trying to figure out which of the new Rockshox B1 AXS dropper posts will work best in my Gen 3 S3 Turbo Levo Carbon. 34.9mm dia obvs, but what length? I need 240mm from the top of the seat tube to the seat rail, and ideally don't want to have the battery box half way up and only get 100mm of drop (I get 170mm with the current Manic Fusion), so it's a matter of how deep does the AXS dropper gubbins go down the tube and how much space do I have?

Has anyone fitted the B1 post or can tell me what they fitted, or tell me the full insertion dimension (space available) in an S3?

Thanks (y)

FWIW, I installed another AXS Reverb dropper 170mm in my Medium sized Trek Rail. There was a chart available for insertion depth but I wanted to make sure before I purchased.

I inserted and measured a broom stick which showed me the insertion depth and clearance. The bike originally came with a OEM 150mm dropper but I needed a bit more.

The AXS Reverb 170mm just fit for my desired seat height. Im not sure if I could get the same clearance with the AXS B1 dropper, which seems to be less money but the battery position is concerning.

It was an expensive purchase, (and luxury) so I wanted to make sure.

Thanks SD, I came across this pic which suggests 240mm is the max on my size of frame - putting it into the Rockshox calculator, they recommend the 150mm dropper. It'll mean the battery box is a couple of inches up the tube, so not perfect, but still...

Whoa, that’s not much of a seat post frame for securing a long dropper…but I guess it’s possible?🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m not familiar with the B1 AXS dropper but the AXS reverb just fit on my bike.

I’m not sure if I would get the same insertion depth with a B1. The lower battery position could be a problem.

Anyways, my motivation for the AXS reverb dropper was to cleanup the cockpit and increase the dropper height to 170mm. I liked the saddle mounting and easy angle adjustment. (That might explain the higher cost).

I’ve never had an issue with the battery position and the Saris bar fits. My bike lives in the stand after each ride.

I think it means there'll be just shy of 240mm of dropper sleeve inside the bikes seat tube, 90mm above, then 150mm of sliding seatpost on top. I think... It'd be nice to get the battery box down on top of the seat tube, but according to the table above I don't think I've got any space inside the seat tube.
