Levo Gen 2 Average rider (me) liked EXT coil, what about a Smashpot for the fork?

I'm very happy with the way the coil shock removed the harshness from the washboard hard pack that is large part of my regular ride. Since I'm still getting harshness through the bars, I wondered if the Vorsprung Smashpot coil conversion would work the same magic on my Pike fork.

It did!

Along with not getting beat up by high speed washboard anymore, I also noticed that the front end doesn't skitter around on the washboard the way it used to (I run open compression damping and 50% rebound damping). I guess this is the increased traction I've heard about. It definitely improves my confidence in the bike's stability when I'm going fast over the rough stuff.

The coils didn't make a dramatic difference, e.g. ebike vs. analog bike on climbs, but they did make a noticeable change for the better in my riding.

Vorsprung's instructions are clear and thorough, so Smashpot assembly and installation was easy.

Nice set up. Im thinking smashpot on my decoy and a secus on my commencal meta tr29. Coil on the back of both. Cc db coil currently on my decoy and going to put a dvo jade x on the meta. Love to try an EXT. Word on the street is theyre amazing

After upgrading my fun filled sight vlt with the EXT STORIA the bike instinctively gave me back a boost of inspiration, it was after a few months l then converted the pike with a Vorsprung smashpot coil... for a 150mm rear 160mm fork, the combo with upgraded suspension as mentioned, succeeded to take me along line choices feeling much better handling stability all for playing around on the trails with bags of confidence....
It's ideal your sag is working best for you, spend time on setting up with the dampening.

Coil has always been better performance than air (provided your kinematics are designed for it) but no-one wanted the extra weight on analogue bikes. Now we are blatting around on 50kg bikes with hardly any effort the weight just isn't a factor anymore!!
