Doing ebikers no favours.....

for context Aston bike park are rebuilding after 6 odd years of closure

the pushup is a footpath (in parts shared with golfers) and a few other footpaths cross the area

this guy kicked down the bars on a staggered gate across the footpath so he could get through without having to lift his bike

Yes bellend. I sure hope that restriction isn't in place though when/if aston hill ever reopens.
It looks like you could ride around the log on the left though anyway.
Regardless Aston hill will have to factor in an ebike rideup route if they are intent on stopping people riding up the pushup track/footpath.
People have ridden up there since day 1 regardless of whether they have an ebike or not if they are fit enough.
Yes i know you could get to the top legitimately by following the xc route but this takes an unnecessarily long time when you are there for gravity laps.

Because if you do then they should be reported to the police.

And if it was someone on here then, why would you do something like this? E-bikes aren’t so heavy that you can just go around vandalising and destroying gates

yes and Amflow lighter than most , I lift my 24kg Whtye , over gates with a wee bit of struggle , don't go terminator X on them, Bell end indeed he could of gone to the left of the log - Twat!

What does the “safety barrier” protect against?
How does a gate keep a footpath safe?
Why didn’t he just ride around the gate?
So many unanswered questions!

Wow that looked like it too a lot of effort.
What a strange (idiot of a) man.

Odd woodland cctv.

Now ive read the latest posts on aston hills instagram, i dont know where this barrier is(was).
I assumed it had been recently installed on the pushup path, as in 10 years of visiting aston hill before it shut in 2021, ive never seen it before.
But they say its been there for decades, so it must be outside of the aston hill bikepark.
Which I find alarming that someone on a bicycle damaging a barrier outside of the bikepark can put the future of the bikepark at risk. I know the neighbours hate its very existence though, so perhaps not surprising.

The camera is there because the gate has been smashed up before, it’s a footpath on private land that’s used as a push up from the bottom of the trails at Aston Hill

Judging by the ease with which he picked up his bike he could have simply lifted his bike over the gate and have been quickly on his way.

The effort he put into wrecking that gate it would have takless energy to lift it over
*anker

This is the footpath up from the Dancers End road on the east side of the site. It is the most logical way to approach if coming from Tring.

Not helpful in the least. Hope he is ashamed of his actions and offers to dig for his crimes!

What the hell? Why didn't he just lift the front wheel vertical and walk through like you have to on some kissing (enclosed swing) gates? Or just pick it up and lift it over the fence, as normal people would? These knobs give us all a bad name, hope someone recognises the scrote. Those staggered fences are usually there to stop lads on motorbikes getting through and using it as impromptu race/Moto X track.
