Definitely a change . No more front wheel wash . Little bit quicker steering. Climbs better. A little less stable blasting downhills. More like a good trail bike. Less like a downhill rig. I think I like it better. Plus more clearance

I recently changed from the low to high position and started a thread here -

My experience is pretty much the same as yours. I really like it in high, much more playful. True, steep downhill is marginally less stable but most of my downhill is tight and technical so I prefer the high position.

Aren’t you on a 170 air shaft?

Going to the high position will put the bike in the same attitude as a 160 on low.

I thought flipping the chip is something that you can change in rearshock mounting and different than Trek Minolink.

I flipped my mino-link to the low position.
I can only pedal with one leg (no quads in the other), and have balance issues.

The low position makes the Powerfly (2019) much more stable (lower bottom bracket), at least for me.

Chip flipped to high setting and the bike is noticeably more nimble in singletrack, which is good. Encouragingly there was no noticeable change in stability during "high" speed descents ~35 MPH. I'll be leaving it in this setting. Now to decide whether to get Smashpot…….

What sort of descents are you hitting 35MPH on?

Ah, ok, nothing technical then.

I've bottled it at 54MPH on tarmac and I saw 48MPH down a fire road in the FoD once and that was with no chain!
