Any Advantage to KMC Ecoprotec - SILVER or Gold Chain?

Are these chains worth the extra money vs their standard Chain ? I know there's weight savings and the Gold probably looks bad ass. But is there any advantage to The Ecoprotec? I assume you still need to lube all of these .
I'm not a pro so a few ounces of weight doesn't concern me .
