Amflow PL Carbon Pro Dream Build. The Liberace Edition.

always remember kids, the one thing you can't buy is style
I have a different perspective, especially for the kids.

In this age of people trying to appease their Social Media peers, and judging your self worth by the likes you get. Just be yourself. Just do what makes you happy. Not the masses.

You will never appease everyone. And the road to trying is a journey of unhappiness and self destruction. :)

I ordered them from Aliexpress in Feb for AUD$3. They just turned up. But there is only 2. So I have ordered 2 more. Hopefully they get here a bit quicker.

You can see I also changed the pad retaining pins to gold. And I just ordered Gold Titanium bolts, as I needed to wait to measure the length of them when the bike arrived.

I haven't got the gold retaining pins yet, but the gold inserts from eBay and some Uberbike finned gold pads.

New spider ring removal tool turned up today. So I decided to fit the Gold Alloy Chainring off my Merida. This chainring has over 500km on it, from the 600 watts peak Shimano EP801 Shimano motor. And has performed flawlessly.

We'll see how it goes with the 1000 peak watts of the DJI motor.

I can source these chainrings for about AUD$10 and I have another one on it's way. So when I couldn't fit the chainring protector, and with the chainring on the Amflow protuding about 30mm below the bash guard. I see this as an acceptable alternative. I'm not too concerned if I bend a few of these chainrings as a part of bike consumables. I have another on it's way.

I have used these chainrings on 3 bikes over 2 years, and have found then hardwearing. The colour does chip off where the teeth contact the chain. But other than that. No issues. Though I am meticulous with chain maintenance.

I also fitted the Alloy Mullet wheelset I built with the gold and oil spill hubs, and gold nipples. If I stick with the mullet wheelset. I will replace the alloy rims with carbon rims in the future.

And some more picks showing the location of the Liberace Decal on the Top Tube, and the new bars and cockpit layout.

I love it. It reminds me of a lot of the DH bike "liveries" you'd see in the early 2000's - especially complete with the Renthal Fatbar!

You are spot on. These days many graphic packages run a cartoon or odd font type theme.

The gold pinstriping idea came from some guys I know that restore classic cars. Pinstriping is a very old school style. Liberace is flamboyance from a previous generation.

There are about 3 final items due to be delivered. One being the water bottle, as the gold and black themed one I got didn't fit, and so ended up on my Merida.

New Fork Decals have turned up. And what a difference. I'll get some better pics when I can get the bike outdoors. But it has made an amazing difference.

I have now also fitted the invisiframe to the forks. Combined with the Metallic Gold Decals. It really pops and just completes the bikes look.

The black water bottle with the Gold text is also so much better than the red bottle. As does the gold brake caliper inserts and gold titanium bolts.

Oh bloody hell ...... Already bent my brand new DT Swiss rear rim. Tried to jump a big gap in the rocks at the beach. I made it. But cased the square edge with the rear wheel on the landing.

All I can say is, Thank god I had replaced the Amflow carbon 29er with an alloy 27.5. Or there would have been tears on my part. 🤣

So I've ordered an Amflow PL Carbon Pro. Arrival is about 6 weeks. I've ordered lots of parts to customise the bike. I'll run through the order list and post photos as parts turn up.

There are so many parts and upgrades that I'll just post them bit by bit.

First Upgrade is the wheels. I am going to mullet the bike and I want to run Alloy rims for compliance and less chance of damage. I do ride really technical rocky areas, so I am concerned about damage to the carbon rims.

I have some black alloy DT Swiss Rims in 29 and 27 at home. So step one will be to build the rear wheel in 27.5. I've ordered a pair of XD hubs in Oil Spill. I'll initially just build the rear wheel to see if I like the bike in it's mulleted configuration. I do build the wheels myself.

I have also bought gold spoke nipples to add to the wheels. The spokes will be black.

I also have ordered some Gold SRAM 203mm rotors. With black bolts of course.

The Alloy rims are Black so I have ordered some Gold DT Swiss Decals

Great look, well done!

Lost count of the number of Amflows I saw out on the trails yesterday in Auckland.

Bonkers how many have been sold in such a short period here.

Yup. I'm a member of The East Coast Mountain Bikers. We just had our Xmas ride and beers. of the 15 EMTBs that turned up. 4 were Amflows. For a AUD$9.5K minimum EMTB that has only sold in Australia for 12 months. It's a lot to see.

Heard a report that they sold 30,000 bikes worldwide in 2025.

Wouldn't be shocked if it was more, they are easily the most common Eeb over here in the UK, Any day out and you see tons of them about

IMO, the AMFLO PL Carbon Pro looks great just as it come new.
Each to their own i suppose, but with all due respect, i think you have tuned the bike into a hideous joke.
Looking so great stock, i would be paranoid to even ride the bike on the tracks & trails i ride for fear of stone chips, dings & scratches. Crashing it does not even bear thinking about.

I am thinking of buying a Pro, and i will get enough derision from my riding mates about the bike as it is stock, let alone farkeling it up as you have.

Enjoy your bike though. You have definitely made it 'your own'.

cheers

Looking so great stock
There are so many Amflow Pro's on the trails now. Mine is different.

It brings a smile to lots of kids as they notice the little extra details. It's a conversation starter with others.

Riding for me is as much a social experience, as the riding it self.

i think you have tuned the bike into a hideous joke.
It's a shame you feel that way.

It's funny. I customized a boat I built in similar flamboyant colours. I kept it for 5 years then sold it. Whilst it wasn't everyone's taste. When I found someone that liked it. They paid $5k more than I paid 5 years earlier.

So whilst vanilla is a great taste. When there is so much vanilla to choose from. Having a colourful variety, separates what you are selling from the vanilla.

Just my experience.

You are my hero! Thanks for sharing your build. I’m picking mine up this week and I’m so stoked! You’ve inspired me!

I think my gay eye was twitching a bit though;
"Not that there's anything wrong with that" Seinfeld: Season 4, Episode 17 ........ :ROFLMAO:

Whilst I am straight, at 60yo, and I'm still enjoying the amorous company of a lady ...... ;) I find the Gay community is far more fashion conscience, and I take inspiration from them in many of my design projects. This includes my bikes, boats, cars and clothing.
for me, a bit more balance is in order - if you tried a black seat and black bars
Funny you should say that. A few months back I changed my bars back to the Amflow black carbon bars, but added an small gold Amflow decal I sourced from invisiframe. I placed it facing forward on the bar, like the Renthal sticker.

And just on the weekend, I fitted back the most comfortable black seat I have. It's by Marin. It was done more for comfort as I have a 4 day ride coming up next weekend. But I stood back and looked at bike, and I do think it looks better against the bronze Kashima dropper. I'll post pics from the 4 day ride.

I entered the bike into Cool Places. But that was months ago. And because I've been in Canada skiing since mid Jan. I've missed most of the EMBN Videos. So thanks for telling me. Found it in Show 422. (y)

I love the title of the video in your pic (as the discussion here has been so divided)...
