Oh BTW ........ They are not SRAM GX cranks either. They are Shimano. But SRAM had the Gold decal.

And whilst I'm explaining decals. The Golden Dragon and Golden Tiger on either side of the seattube, is a reference to one of my favourite Chinese movies. It's a "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" that is a Chinese reference to hidden talents.

Originally this was going on the Amflow, as the Amflow is Chinese and a bit of a Sleeper EMTB. But I have bought an extra set to have matching themes on the bikes, like they will both have the Liberace decals, even though neither have any actual connection to Liberace.

The circular decals are a different Merida Bikes Logo.

The rear rim is a DT Swiss rim I bought. I changed the decals to gold. But the front rim is the original Merida Rim, that I have Decaled the same as the rear, for conformity.

Rang the bloke Monday. The Amflow arrived in Melbourne on Friday. It will be processed this week. Should get to Sydney today. But with Easter. I'm thinking I'll see it next week.

I've taken a week off to do all the upgrades next week. So I'll be super pissed if I don't get it by Wednesday next week.

I'm bewildered ......... Still no Amflow. Still no update. Dealer says. "Yeah ........ I should probably chase Amflow up today ......." ....... Ya Think ??? ......

I'm going to rate this as the worst consumer experience I've ever had. I'm at week 10 of a 6 week delivery, and I've got to remind the dealer to chase Amflow.

I'm just so thankful Merida have been absolutely on the ball with the E160 and the parts upgrade on it. Went away riding for 4 days over Easter. The bike was flawless. I'll get some more pics up in the Pics Thread later.

Could it be true ??? Some actual communication from the dealer .......:eek::eek:

Not sure what took them so long to get it out of the container and onto a truck ??? But it's on it's way.

I'm taking bets on how long the truck takes to get it to Sydney. If the forklift took 3 weeks to lift it out of the Container. I'm thinking 3 months ....... :ROFLMAO:

I'm hoping the next post in the thread is me hugging my new Amflow PL Carbon Pro ....... "My precious ........ " 🤣

Can't help myself. The Amflow is off the truck and at Botany Terminal in Sydney. I've been given a tentative pick up date of Tuesday ....... I'm so excited ...... 🤭

Funny story ....... I wrote the sorting code nearly 15 years ago for the freight sorting conveyor system at Toll Botany. 54 inverter drives on Devicenet. So if the bike goes astray now. It's my fault ...... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

OMG. It has finally arrived. I have picked her up and she has been Christened. Her name is Libby, <short for Liberace>. She was put on front and centre display at the bike store.

Though the shop was full of Amflows. The owner saying he had another 5 downstairs in boxes. All sold. Literally cannot get enough of them to keep up with demand.

My car Nicky, <short for Nicola Tesla> and Libby have been introduced and seem to be getting along well. :ROFLMAO:

Infact Nicky welcomed Libby into her supple arms ......... ;)

Lots of work still left to do before Libby goes public. There is all the graphics, Invisiframe wrapping, and a multitude of new parts. Hopefully she is ready for the weekend.
The Man-Cave is filled to the brim with parts and accessories, ready for the big task ahead.

Just a note as to why you will continue to see the Maxxis Dissector on the bike. For the first month or three, Im going to run the original wheels and tyres, for 2 reasons.

1) To alleviate any warranty issues from factory assembly faults on the motor and drive train.
2) I want to do a proper comparison of a full 29er setup to the mulleted setup.

Once I have concluded that I am sticking with the Mullet setup. I'm going to fit Maxxis Pace 2.1 tyres to the carbon wheelset, so I can convert easily to a superlight, low rolling resistance gravel setup for the Amflow. I quite regularly do gravel trips around Australia. The Amflow being so light, and the ability to firm up the suspension so easily, will make this a perfect gravel slayer.

I'm going to get an ECOFLOW battery pack, so I can recharge the Amflow anywhere. It will also sub as an emergency recharger for the car.

I have made a late call and ordered new graphics for the fork. It's an all Metallic Gold decal. So I cannot wrap them yet.

Can I get some opinions on changing the fork decal. Below is what I have ordered. Thx in advance.

I think if the gold is the same as the other decals you’re putting on, then go for it.
The existing decal is a more matt bronze colour, and has text that is grey. The new decal is all metallic gold text and Fox logo. Same metallic gold as the Rock Shox Lyrik Decal fitted to the Merida.

The all Metallic Gold just seems to pop more against the black fork.

Finished the wrap. Went for first ride ........ OMFG ....... What a Weapon !!! .......

There are a set of 7 steps going uphill in my street. I climbed these stairs like they weren't there. It was insane. Then coming down them ...... Didn't feel a thing. On the Merida ...... It takes all my concentration to get up these stairs. With the Amflow, approach at any speed, then just power up them.

Then when I was coming down. I noticed I was getting air coming down, so on my third attempt, I decided to just leap them completely. It was insanely easy. You can accelerate to take off speeds in an instant. It gives you so much confidence to jump anything.

Absolutely blown away !!!

Pics after final graphics, Invisiframe and assembly. Sorry the background isn't perfect, but it's what I had.

Then a final shot to show the original concept drawing Vs what I actually built.

Just missing the chainring
The chainring protector rubbed on the chain guide and crank, so it came off. So I tested my blue alloy 34T chainring on it and it fitted the T-Type chain perfectly and had the exact same chainline. So I've ordered another in gold. At least if I damage these chainrings, they are fairly inexpensive to replace.

BTW, I ordered a black 600ml water bottle. The 750ml one I got didn't fit. That's why the red 600ml one is there. I'll fit gold SRAM decals to the black 600ml water bottle when it turns up.

Missing the opportunity for a bit more bling, MT7 Gold Caliper Covers…

I ordered them from Aliexpress in Feb for AUD$3. They just turned up. But there is only 2. So I have ordered 2 more. Hopefully they get here a bit quicker.

You can see I also changed the pad retaining pins to gold. And I just ordered Gold Titanium bolts, as I needed to wait to measure the length of them when the bike arrived.
