Hello amflow/avinox owners!

I think someone should make a range extender for the amflow. Does it turn on and allow itself to be pedaled while it is charging? If so, then it would be easy to make one. If not, dji would have to change some firmware.

Also, unrelated, does anyone have experience with the new cascade link for the amflow? If so I’d be keen to here how it is. I want to purchase an amflow but only if the cascade link (and other components—fork, wheels/tires, etc.) graduates it from just being a trail bike to being most of the way there to an enduro bike.

Hi hi there,

I’ve gone ahead and ordered the Cascade link—now comes the hard part: staring at the tracking page and wondering when on earth it’ll actually show up (high demand problems 😅).

Based on Cascade’s description of the Amflow linkage—and since it sounds pretty similar to the Levo—I’m guessing the ride feel will be close to my Gen 3 Levo with the Cascade upgrade. Basically: smoother over the small chatter, but still nice and poppy when you pump it. Overall, definitely livelier than the stock linkage.

That said, you’ll probably only really notice the difference if you spend most of your time bombing downhill singletrack. If not… well, it might feel like an expensive conversation piece 😄

I’ll keep you posted once mine arrives and I’ve put enough miles on it to decide whether it’s truly worth the damage to the wallet.

Sweet thanks! Yeah I race enduro and downhill and I want a capable e-bike for training lol. Just wanting to see if this makes the bike up to the task!

@Winford just fitted one, he posted today "1202 miles on my amflow, received cascade link. Quality is very high. Only downside is sag went from 25% to 50% of shocks travel, went from 180psi of air to 250 to get sag corrected. So if you have a coil, you will need a stronger coil, and every spring calculator will be way off. Plan on putting an orange fox spring on my ohlins anyway."

The 10mm wont make a lot of difference, but it does help not bottoming out as much. Installed mine but its been raining for 3 days straight, Tomorrow I might get to ride it.

Amflow is a great training tool, you can beat on it hard enough in stock form to get a great work out. This link is the cheapest 10mm ive paid for. I dont expect anything negative, and i know it wont transform the bike dramatically. But any addition over stock will be welcome

Yeah for sure. I bet the kinematic and burlier fork will make more of a difference than just +10mm of travel. It does seem like a great training tool! I could put it in boost for a quick ride when I’m out of time or put it in eco for longer shreds.

100% and its only a hair rougher/stiffer ride, but the feedback from the front tire is night and day over the 2026 36 which is an outstanding fork. The 38 just opens up line choices you never had before, that hair more control goes a long way when you are pushing it. The 36 in places you are just hanging on and it dumps you out the technical stuff where you land if you follow me. The 38 gives you enough control in the rough you can pick better lines.

The extra speed you carry up technical trails transfers over to your overall skill set, combined with increased trail speed, your skill set can only increase. Im a 1000 miles in, and average 4600 miles a year and 650,000' of elevation. This bike has increased my skill set dramatically, and im still improving. Strength wise, I peddle it in turbo turned up to 1000w so I still get that eco work out, no matter what mode im in. Cant do it all day long, but she gives back what you put in, the extra power only enhances your work out if you can hang on without dumping it. So far so good. I average a bad high speed off about every 6-8 months and knock on wood no ER visits in a few years

Ohlins ttx22m installed and at 190lbs the 605lb spring was too soft. I ordered the fox 61/650 spring they said it would rub the sleeve protector a little, but it didnt even fit on the shock body, without a little Dremel work on the spring base. it Is a little longer and hopefully it is not too soft. The 605lb spring was a little bouncy no matter where I had compression set too. right now I have 16mm sag on a 55mmm shock so right at 29% keeping fingers crossed.

I honestly thought switching to a coil would just magically fix everything
I have it dialed in now. At 190lbs the 650 spring in mandatory with the Cascade. With the 605lb spring you could not tell a difference in the # 1 - 2 or 3 compression setting. It was like the shock was dead.

With a coil your compression settings are crucial. On #1 setting of the big compression lever, it wallows a little but comfortable, and #2 for jumps and it stiffens it up when flying. I think rebound I have on 1 turn out, and the small compression knob is open 4 clicks if I remember right.

Adding the Ohlins and Cascade is not a magical transformation for the bike. The fox air shock is actually a very good quality so its not a huge upgrade. Am I glad I did it? Yes. Small bumps are absorbed better, I have not gotten really any faster lol ;) but the fox 38 170 there was a noticeable improvement. I do go through rough chunk a little easier.
