Damn now the SLX/XT build has the Race motor, maybe I should have waited and got this instead of the Vala:

No tax, free shipping and 11% off sale price - not bad for $5,700

After having ridden 1 ride on the Race, I prefer my Gen 4. The Race is too powerful in tight situations and the over run is rediculous, but that’s my opinion.

The price increase for the Pro model on Pivot’s website is nuts.

But you don't HAVE to run it in Race Mode when the conditions don't allow for it. On my Gen 4, I have to be VERY careful when the trail gets super-steep and technical while in Turbo. Sometimes it's best to just bump it back. I'd gladly swap my Gen 4 for the Race model.

From what I remember, or don’t remember, even the purple mode had a lot not preferred over run.

Coming back to Ebikes after riding pedal bikes for nearly 5 years now and I am interested in the Shuttle AM. As I already own a Switchblade (this is going the be replaced by the ebike) and a Firebird I appreciate the overall Pivot quality.
What I am not sure about is the rattling noise of the Gen4 Bosch motor installed in the bike. Is it really as bad? Is there a difference between the race and CX(?) in this regard?
I am also looking at the Vala or the Amflow but as I am pretty convinced of my Firebird and the geo is very close to the Shuttle, this would be otherweise my go to bike.

Power and such is not a big deal for me as all actual ebikes have more than enough for my needs.

Just got the BLT with the Race Motor and yes, there is a little bit of rattle but not bad. I've tested the DJI Avinox in the AMFLOW and it also has some rattle.

I don’t notice the motor rattle. There is an annoying rattle from cables in the downtube. According to FB, pivot do a sound deadening foam for the top tube and around the battery. I haven’t check mine to see if this is fitted already.

It might be worth asking on the fb group.

Before even riding my Large AM for the first time, I installed the OneUp EDC tools, pump, bottle cage, and pedals. She then tipped the scales at 52 pounds, 3 ounces.
Which build is this? PRO?
Does anyone have the weight for the SLX/XT "RIDE" build?

It's the one that comes with the XO1 drivetrain. I forgot to mention that I weighed it with the X2 shock. Mine is a 2024 model. The new bikes are a little differently equipped.

mine is 48 pounds. I like it better than my levo comp.
Shuttle more power, more fun maybe because its lighter.
Size small has smaller battery than med and large ,i think 625 watts

What spec is that? With pedals?

Hi, I'm just new into pivot bikes and got my first some time ago on discount here in EU. I wonder what is this on rear shock? I see it on some photos while on the others not. Any ideas?

Having ridden my Crestline mostly lately with the Bosch Gen 5, I rented a Shuttle LT a couple weeks back with the Bosch Race in Grand Junction, CO and was gobsmacked by the rattle on the chunky, ledgy terrain there. I kinda got used to it on my Shuttle AM, but after being off of it for a bit, it becomes very noticeable.

I just picked up a new Shuttle AM with the Race motor. I have the original Shuttle with the 27.5 x 3.0 wheels. I liked that bike a lot but I prefer 29ers so I like this one more. Plus ,this Race motor is a real beast. I di not need so much power/assist for normal riding solo, so I tuned the Sport mode down. I'm 5'11" and could have fit the Medium but the Large felt more comfortable. I got the battery extender as well.

The first ride was 23 miles and 3,300 ft at altitude around 6,000 - 75,00 mostly in Sport mode plus a few short forays into the others. I came home with 45% battery left. I just put a carbon handlebar on...alloy bars always feel very vibey. I think thinking I'll leave the Powermore mount on but that forgoes the water bottle so not sure what to do yet. Sometimes it is nice to carry just one water bottle and a light pack. I may get the Phoenix tool+CO2s for under the top tube. I always change wheels but with the ebike, I am not seeing the benefit of going with lighter carbon wheels. The alloy wheels seem to be pretty comfy, though heavy, I am sure. Cutting 300-400 grams may not save me much juice though overweight weight reduction on my fat self will....working on that.

Eventually, I will upgrade the drivetrain from this SLX/XT setup. I MAY even get better brakes. Any mods you guys have done that have been helpful?

I like the mounting holes under the top tube. Pivot sells a little tool bag that fits in that location. My tools are the OneUp EDC kit that fits in the steerer tube. In the top-tube bag I keep an electric pump, plug kit, and a couple other sundry items. It's the best setup for me.

I've got the original wheels on my bike. I was skeptical of the aluminum hoops, thinking I would wreck them pretty quickly. But they're holding up fine after 2000 miles,, with only some small dings from rocks that get kicked up. I recommend tensioning the spokes at 150 miles, 300 miles, and then checking them every thousand or so.

I put some TRP DHR brakes on the bike. They're better on the ride, but they require more maintenance. I supect that Shimano will be releasing their new brakes within the next month, so I'd hold off buying anything for your AM right now.

Enjoy the new bike.

Thanks! Good information and tip on the brakes. I'll wait on the brakes but will heck out the other stuff you mention. Much appreciated!

If your bike has the SLX 4-piston I would get MTX Red or Gold pads. Awesome stopping upgrade and no rattle like the OE Shimano Pad Fins. Cheap upgrade

Pretty sure it has the 4-piston and definitely SLX. It got a lot better after I bedded the front in again but I'll get those pads you mention.

Also a 220 rotor up front is a game changer. I run Gold front and red rear, or keep the Shimano resin on the rear until they wear our.

I like the idea of the 220 rotor a lot! That will increase the front braking power. I can swap pads once they get closer to wearing out.
