Levo Gen 2 2021 Swing Arm Worries

Hi guys, I'm after a bit of help please. I've recently (for the first time) bought a new Levo and I'm worried about the area of the swing arm, where the two bits of rubber/plastic meet – please see the photo. I do intend to fashion a mudguard to protect this area, as others have done, but I still know that bits of crap will lodge on here and find their way through the small gap. I wouldn’t be so bothered, but rather than escaping, this then falls into the motor housing. I can’t believe that on a bike, now several generations old, a better bit of design hasn’t been adopted. Maybe I’m missing something, but I’d be grateful for your advice please. Thanks, Paul.

I plan to change tyres in the next couple of days and shall post pictures once fitted

I too was concerned at the amount of dirt gathered, prior to collection I ordered a sitcomtb v3 guard which arrived today

Unfortunately Sicomtb DualGuard is too short to give any proper protection of this area...

Oh well I shall retract my suggestion and admit to many mistakes and assumption along the way!
I’m sure someone shall be along with a more useful method!

Firstly the gap into the motor housing is protected by moto foam just inside the casing. If you think that is not sufficient take the non drive side cover off and stuff some more in there ( I have). Whilst you are at it use some moto foam to plug the gap into the motor cover where the speed sensor and rear brake hose enter.
To provide further protection I also stuff a strip of moto foam in beside the rubber insert.
The easiest way to protect that area from crud and more importantly protect the frame bearings, shock and dropper, is to use a Mudhugger front mudguard mounted on the rear of the Levo. ( All of this is well trodden territory for 2019 Levo owners!! )

I've seen a piece of plastic glued onto the bottom of fenders to increase the length, this could work well for you. The V3 mudguard looks very good, although I do query the tight fit, but it's a heck of a price. That said, cheap compared to the bike, especially if it works! The mudhugger also looks tight with 29 x 2.6 tyres. I think that I'll try to make something that gives more space.

Thanks Mikerb, do you have a good source for moto foam please? In conjunction with a rear mudguard, could a piece of rubber, or plastic be fixed to one of the inserts to cover the gap between them? This seems a simple fix and I've also seen a moulded piece of carbon fibre used to cover this and protect the back of the seat tube but, at 60 euro, it's not cheap - Gravel Guard für Aluminiumrahmen Modelle

I didn't like having the logo on it ('cos the colour clashed!!). They have since told be that you can order it without.
