I am in Los Angeles, and I also heard that some 2021’s Levo Comps are on their way to stores. Price has increased from 5.9k USD to 6.2K USD. One of the colors is green, no big changes as I understand. Just colors.

Interesting they don't start the hype before bikes hit floors. Show colors and any improvements. I guess if there was a crap ton of left over stock it might make sense but that is not the case. I am waiting to test ride a Kenevo before I pull the trigger on a ebike. Guess I will just keep grinding out the hills on my Ibis like a sucker until that happens. LOL

But they’re really popular (most?) and they can’t meet demand (in Europe at least), so in economics terms it was priced too low. Sounds like they aren’t going to increase production, and maybe can’t because of the pandemic.

Another thing is their actual costs when I hear people are getting up to USD 11000 in guarantee parts and work on one bike.

The Brose engines become more and more a financial problem for Specialized. Apparently they have to replace belts at 5k kms instead of the promised 15k. I just got an engine replacement on their expense after three years i.e. out of warranty.

That might be the reason for the supply difficulties and for the price hike.

I know you're excited but posting the same content to 2-3 different posts is probably enough to make sure it's seen. For the next handful of posts you could maybe just link over to the first posting of it.

I have seen a couple of 2021s in Swiss bike shop so they can't be far away for the rest of you. Green and black looks good.

I'm in the market (most likely) for an SL, do they usually run discounts in the UK for previous years models when the new ones come out. Or are they taken off the shelves?

Ah yes the 12sp cassette brings the 34T chainring... now if only the bike and I didn’t run out of puff at 25km/h

All this stuff is up on Specialized web site. No fan fair and they’re still calling the 2.1 motor “new” ?

There won’t be any fanfare because it’s not a new platform.
The Comp model has a 160mm Fox 36, SLX four piston brakes, SLX 12-speed drivetrain, 35mm bar and stem and new centerlock hubs. My Specialized rep says the belt has been changed on the motor to something more robust.
The biggest reason for the belts (besides being a belt in general) failing is riders trying to climb in too high of a gear in turbo mode. So that’s part of the why 12-Speed drivetrains are on the bikes this year.
The 2022 model will probably change to a new Mahle derived motor, but I wouldn’t expect the frame layout to change all that much. A new Stumpjumper will be probably announced soon and the Levo is always based on what that bike looks like.

the new s-works is the first since 2016 where i dont want to change any parts (beside pedals and grips). i hope there are more color options ?

Specialized's latest investor report is quite telling!

New motor for 2022 model but engineering are expecting to use same frame fitments so should be possible to swap.

Brose contract has been extended to 2023.

Brose contract is probably extended because Vados and Comos will probably still use this motor through 2024 model year.
