Hi!

I have a chance of getting last years Levo SL Expert Carbon in my desired size and colour on 35% off and I'm seriously considering it.. It will end up being almost 25% cheaper then a new Orbea Rise M10 that I was thinking about..

I don't really ride a lot of the gnarly terrain, it's mostly about extending my current trail riding, but I'm a 6"1, 190lbs guy so not necessarily light..

I'm mostly worried about not getting a GRIP2 fork and older suss in general. But on the other hand, my current analogue Scott Genius 910 has (I think) almost the same suspension. It could be better, but the Levo SL will be a bit of a heavier bike..

Should I go for it or save for a RISE M10 or 2021 of the Expert Carbon?

Help!

Expanding on my comments from your other thread - if you like the scott, then the levo sl is very similar with the motor turned off.

If anything, the levo sl is slightly easier on the forks than your scott - at least that's my highly scientific guess from riding my daughters genius 940 back to back with my levo comp carbon - both sharing the lower spec fox 34 rythm. The difference might have been tyres, there really wasn't much in it.

I think there is 1.5 - 2 kg between our bikes, the levo feels lighter / more lively in the back and marginally quicker steering - it steers about the same as the genius with the twinlock in middle mode.

The levo seat angle is slightly rearward c/w the scott, admittedly I'm not good enough to pick the difference.

Her 940 is the alloy framed, alloy wheeled lower spec version than your 910 , but my comp carbon also has alloy wheels and lower spec than the expert you are looking at.

For what it's worth, I probably would have chosen a rise instead of my levo sl if they were both available, but mostly because the rise is better value. I'm REALY glad I got the sl instead - mostly because I was after something that handled like her genius.
