Ride the first lap / lap and a half in Eco whilst you have fresh legs. Do the next 3 in Tour (or middle setting), and then depending what you have left, you can carry on in Tour, and maybe get a bit of Turbo (top setting) for the last lap when you’re legs are gone!
I have a JoeBlow Booster Pump by Topeak.
I highly rate it as both a pump, and a tubeless inflator. Flick a switch to fill the canister, pump to 160psi, and flick the switch back again - and the tyre springs into life. You can then carry on pumping if it's not enough.
I wouldn't be without...
I used to have a Rail 9.9 (only for a few weeks) and swapped it for a Levo SL.
I had the 170mm AXS dropper on both bikes. After about 9 months, it’d need bled every ride or 2 (jam the red T shaped tool into the bottom and push the post in) because it wouldn’t go down properly. It’d work for a...
Swapped it for a Levo SL whilst 3 weeks into my ‘satisfaction’ guarantee. I felt it was too powerful for me. I still want to cycle to exercise, and just want a little assistance. The SL feels more like my Stumpy, with a bit of a boost... which is more what I was wanting from an eMTB.
I did the matte finish on mine, but clearly didn’t post a picture in this thread!
I don’t have the bike anymore, but here are a couple of pics from last year. Not sure if they help with the matte vs gloss argument though!
I put this on to keep the bike clean, not my back. At the risk of offending, the full size Mud Hugger looks awful - and I’d rather have a dirty back!
If my effort was going to clog at the first sign of mud, I imagine doing the same and putting another MudHugger ontop if it would have much the...
I haven’t had this bike since mid February, when I swapped it for a Levo SL.
Looks from the pics that I attached it to the seat stays, and 2 zip ties onto the bar across the top of the seat stays.
I know I drilled new holes for these zip ties... but I can’t remember if that was for the Rail or...

My experiences of both.
Both great bikes... but the SL was more what I was looking for.
There’s a close up of my 9.9 battery when I did it. Can see it if you look close, but it’s barely visible from a distance.
As time goes one, it’ll dry out and become even less obvious.
Don’t have the bike anymore, so can’t tell you what it looks like now!
Glad you didn’t need to ride for 90mins with no support! You’d have had to have found a very flat route for that, as my Rail 9.9 wasn’t much fun when switched off!!
I noticed a few cosmetic marks on my 9.9 when applying the invisiframe. Bike had just come straight home (wrapped in blankets), so no way I caused them.
The bike shop offered to order a full replacement bike in - even though I’d ridden it several times before showing them the photos.
On a Bosh Gen 4 powered bike it’s pointless.
I had a Rail 9.9 for a few weeks with the Eagle X01 AXS on it. I found myself using gears 5-12... and mainly 9-12. Even really steep technical climbs, I never used 1st, 2nd or 3rd.
I now have a Levo SL, and have the Eagle XX1 AXS on it, and use...
I really liked the shock, but then I never tested it off big drops. It was very smooth for charging down rocks etc.
My Bosch rattled like hell when going down bumpy surfaces when not pedalling. I found it really annoying after a couple of rides.
It was like riding with a chain that was too...
I had a Rail 9.9 with Kiox. The Knock Block has a screw hole that the mount attaches to, and there is a small pin that goes into a wee hole that stops it rotating.
Although it’s the cleanest looking mount and out of the way of danger, I didn’t think it was in a great place for viewing. Out of...
I thought my Rail 9.9 was much better equipped than a Levo S-Works, and was £500 cheaper.
I got 15% off retail. I see Rutland Cycles are now selling the 9.9 with 15% off as the price - it’s no longer a ‘special offer’.
