I can't comment on Trek but with most manufacturers you would be without your bike for a while whilst waiting for replacement.

I would start with a light frame first for an XC bike, lighter fork maximum 120 travel, Reserve 28xc Wheels with 180 Hubs, Schmolke Carbon Bars, I am sure you could change every major part with something lighter. Let us know how you get on.

My exact thoughts I would be trying that route first, normally the dealers will help with this anyway it’s in there benefit super happy customer with no additional cost. Just sit back and wait for the repeat business or recommendations.

I agree about the GX AXS upgrade but would certainly not purchase anything until claim is resolved.

Sorry to see that but I would try warranty route before doing anything to bike, fingers crossed it gets resolved with no issues.

I have always felt Trek way over price so nothing is unusual for me.

To be fair just only from this site you see most bikes being upgraded even S works I think this is just something riders do.

Thanks this is something I have been looking into also I am sure something will be developed soon (I hope) I can't see the benefit in Bosch trying to freeze out Garmin.
