There have been plenty of reports of the hubs Orbea substituted, when they could not get Shimano, were dying. They were covered by warranty, A few reports of EP8's being swapped out. Lets hope after your are replaced thing will be smooth sailing.
There fundamentally two problems. Crank arms falling off and spindles breaking. In the threads about this subject you can see examples of both of these problems "after" the fix. When I compared the new shimano cranks and the old cranks it struct me that the pre-load "bolts" from Shimano are...
The subject is talked about to death in the threads here. Clear enough for me to remove everything with label 13 on my bike when I first got it. Not worth it to me to take any chance of the ring breaking, the arms falling off or the shaft breaking.
YMMV
Miranda are good. FSA also makes cranks to fit the EP8

The Orbea Rise is no different than any other MTB. So you choose a tire for your trail surface. I ride on hard packed desert trails so I choose the lightest tire for those conditions. Fast, not very big knobs. WTB ranger, Maxxis Recon, XR4.
IF you ride in wet rooty trails then you might choose...
I used the Jagwire rear rotor with magnet that worked fine. Also I would recommend, since you mentioned water, to put a bit of simple clear packing tape over the on-off button. Mine gets very dirty given where they put it and that suggestion has paid off for me. I love the bike. I have a 34 on...
Whether you need 203mm rotors depends on your weight. If you decide to change the rotors the rear rotor needs to be one that includes a magnet for the cadence sensor. With supply chain problems in 2022 Orbea, like everybody, had to substitute parts for what ever they could get to deliver bikes...
CAN is not like a simple serial protocol. It is a network with smart devices that must put information on the bus and receive information from the bus. The devices are looking for specific requests for information for them. So just because a device can connect to a CAN bus does not mean it will...
There are plenty of threads here talking about cranks falling off and motor spindle breaking. Not worth taking a chance for me so I replaced everything with Shimano, upon purchase. No problems for me in 6 months.
I think this is a valid concern. I bought mine from 2000 miles away in order to get one when they were in short supply. Only a dealer that is Shimano certified for their motors can troubleshoot and get warranty spares. A normal bike is pretty easy to repair yourself but the motor adds a level...
Yes cutting carbon bars is an important warning. Carbon dust is not good for you and there is no way to get it out of your lungs once it is there. So take cutting seriously. I cut carbon with a saw under water and for as many things like cutting handlebars I don't use a saw. I use a pipe cutter...
Something to be aware of when cutting down handlebars. First many bars are reinforced on the ends and only "allow" being cut to a certain limit. Second you may find that your handlebar hardware needs a certain amount of handlebar space i.e. the grips, brake levers, shifters etc. Often the...
I don't think RS is marketing hype at all. It identifies a very different approach to owning an eMTB. Full power speaks to those that don't mind an electric motorcycle. The RS speaks to owning an MTB that gives you a tailwind on demand.
Different philosophies.
Many BMS system will put the battery in storage mode after a few days of lack of use. A Lithium battery does not store optimally at full charge. It should be somewhere around 65%. So many smart systems will automagically bring the voltage down to storage level if the battery is not used for a...
