Yes if you replace under warranty they send you the correct chromoly steel one
But replace the axle as well as it snaps or wears through in some cases
It’s covered on here somewhere
You’re aware the ep8 has a rattle built in? They all do it. Noticeable free wheeling at speed over small bumps will bring it out, adding extra mass of the extender….. would that make it more pronounced perhaps ?
If you are aware please ignore this
No experience with the extender although I...
You don’t want that alloy shaft, it should be chromoly steel as the replacement free hub is. There’s numerous people have had the shaft snap or wear through
Here’s the steel shaft part number (edit, again, posted so many times I’ve forgotten where😄) they supplied under warranty next to the...
There is no way to use an impact and I don’t agree with your second point in this application tbh. The axle with the slots in the end is aluminium and brittle. Wacking it as suggested is far more likely to bust the shoulders off the slots on the axle or worse.
But better to be aware for others...
Yours being h15 mine h30
Some h15 got the same Chinese Chosen hubs due to supply issues. Check the specs I guess ? Certainly true of the h30. Ask them for support on procedures for replacing the axle and they send you pictures of a Shimano cup n cone loose bearing hub. Even though chosen hubs...
Expect it to fail. Because it will as will the hollow alloy axle either by wear or simply undoing the thing to change bearings which are too tight and go notchy. Start a warranty now imo
Or thinking further, modify the can to clear. Basically grind a bit off. How thick is the can though? Anyone know?
I suppose in the interests of saving weight…. Not very thick at all. And it’s still got to hold the pressure ramp up
That’s a shame
I have an XL frame and looking for a shock with high and low speed damping to match my new fox 36 grip 2. I was hoping there would be a way but being at 6’3 and looking for more exciting trails it’s not worth the risk.
Is there another similar suitable option that fits?
Thanks for your input, ive tried to straighten buckled wheels with spoke tension and while managed to improve it, it was not successful and put me off the idea of lacing a wheel forever… although I’m sure it helps starting with a rim that is actually straight 😁
I guess I should make it clear...
On my local loop there’s a twin track trail lined with 300x300 slabs on the surface for heavier vehicles. These have subsided and moved over time and no longer sit level. So much so that when wet there’s a good chance of sliding off the side of them with the slimy winter green everything get in...

Orbea Rise reliability
Are Shimano owners aware of this? Well here you go if not.
Surprised there isn’t a motor manufacturers specific section for these sorts of posts tbh.
One for the Shimano section perhaps ? Or have I missed it?
Mine raised this code and didn’t tell me. Presume it’s not a major code as it still drives ok. It was bloody cold at the time and I do get frustrated with the thing when you set off and forget to turn the poxy thing on, so then have to get off agsin to reach the power button by which time...
Right so on the ep8 with e tube ride ( correction e tube app, not the ride app) app, there is a maintenance tab once connected to the bike and the motor unit selected (from memory) in there you can see what code has been raised along with a description of that cause and a course of action to...
