I’ve used the upride for my emtb but to stick to the 20kg weight maximum defined by Thule, I removed the battery, pedals and chain. Didn’t have any issues but certainly took corners slower than usual to reduce lateral weight transfer. Went through considerably more fuel on a long motorway trip...
How on earth did you break that?! It’s a fairly solid piece. I’ve got both the 598 and the 599 with both working a dream. The 598 is rock solid in its clamping on the down tube and provides great stability on my analogue bikes. Internal clamp width is 80mm
Helpful to see it in situ. Whilst mine will be a long journey, it’s all motorway so shouldn’t be too much of an issue if the weight is suitable with the battery removed ??
Does anyone have experience using either the Thule UpRide (599) or the Thule TopRide (568)? I have their ProRide (598) which works a treat with my hard tail but the down tube is too big on my eMTB for the 598. I’m planning a long road trip, has anyone used them long distance? Assume they’re fine...
