4 hours seems quite excessive. I recently swapped a set out myself and think it likely took 3 hours with a full bleed and I’m a shade tree bike mechanic working in my garage. 4 hours (or less) and your can do a full disc and pad job on a full size car!
Hadn't found that page - very helpful thanks! Been riding some pretty steep and fast technical stuff with a lot of ruts and rocks so going to test out high/slack for a few rides and see how it goes.
I won’t ride with a ridiculous looking thing hanging off the back. This prevented the mountain of mud that normally accumulated at the pivot point and reduced the amount tossed up onto my backside… so yes I am
Does an S-Works count? Just finished it last week (final touch was a rethink on brakes)
Zeb Ultimate 160
Push 11.6
AXS Reverb
AXS XX1 transmission
Hope Tech 4 V4s (220s)
Deity TMACs, Copperhead, Speedway
SQlab 60X saddle (really like this)
Industry Nine Enduro 305s w/ Hydras.
Used the MT7s / 220s on my 2019 TL. Really liked them. Put a new set on my 2022 S-Works build as well. No real complaints but have never been a fan of the carbotech material and reservoir full caps that strip so easily. On a whim I grabbed a set of the Hope Tech 4 V4s with 220s and put them on...
25% off is pretty good. I built up a s-works frameset this winter that I was able to get a deal on. Even with saving in taxes and taking advantage of component sales and such I think I managed to do it for about 30% off retail all in. In a lot of ways I ended up with something better for me...
I used the Ride Wrap custom kit for my recent S-Works Frameset build. The application process is pretty good once you sort of get the hang of it. The coverage is really good. I would also buy the Specialized kit as well and apply the downtube piece over the Ride Wrap as its a bit thicker and...
I worry less about the caliper as that is fixed and not going anywhere relative to the frame... its the disc itself, especially if you're running a 220mm, that gets me nervous in case it develops a warp or otherwise gets bent (particularly on carbon frames)
You should be able to disconnect the hose at the lever and back it back into the frame. If you remove the TCU you can then redirect it to the other side.
Just ordered the new hinges door from a semi-local LSB. Says it’s in stock. Will see when it shows up. My original hasn’t snapped yet but would just assume make the proactive fix
You shouldn't have any issue with a 170. I run a 170 AXS Reverb in my S3 and gets pretty darn close to all the way in. You're only talking 20mm more than stock.
