The 2018 would need to be below 4K USD before it shouts bargain, and even then the reduced suspension travel would suggest it's better suited to someone who doesn't ride particularly extreme stuff. I've still got my 2018 and it's great, but soooo far behind my Decoy, (and I would imagine the...
If you think a Levo charge gets hot you shouldn't try the Decoy charger. I can barely hold mine once it gets toward the end of a full charge. I've actually put a USB fan over it in the back of the van whilst I charge it on the road.
My 2018 Levo had 2 water ingress issues, the second leading to a new motor replaced under warranty. Both events within a few weeks of crossing the river at Gisburn, so I would agree to avoid submerging the engine. New engine is faultless but I wouldn't dunk it - learnt my lesson.
What settings did you use - I'm asking cos I'm doing the epassport du soleil next week and that's pretty much the same distance and climb on the route, so interested in how much you had to nurse it around as its much longer than I've ever done before on a single charge.
I always use a section at Lee Quarry to set rebound. It's like a boulder armoured staircase that is guaranteed to pack your fork down if rebound is too slow. 2 clicks faster is my sweet spot.
It will likely be a bad connection issue. Most likely at the battery plug as above but could be on of the cable cores has broken down or a dry joint at one of the internal connectors. Mine did it twice. Repaired at 6 months and about 500miles and full motor replacement when it reoccurred at 1i...
Happened to my 2018 twice. First time at 3 months old was repaired, second time at 18 months new motor fitted. Spesh LBS were brilliant - both times sorted under warranty.
Theres a big different between spec on the base Levos to Decoys. The base Decoy is comparable to the Levo Carbon Comp spec wise but the YT is over a grand cheaper. However only you can decide if the differences are important to you. I suspect only the dropper and fork on the base Levo would...
The upgrade doesn't provide a full lockout, but there are certainly 3 distinct levels of platform, and the firm settings certainly gets rid of any bob.
I went for the carbon but only cos I preferred the colour and delivery time was much shorter then the alloy. Mine only had frame difference, fork was the same. Both ride pretty much identical. Would have been happy with the alloy If colour/lead time hadn't been an issue.
80 kgs - today did 21 off road miles with 3000ft of climbing, mainy Eco (25%) with trail for about 20% of the climbs (trail set at 50%) Finished with 2 bars left. Best I've ever done is 32 miles with about 2000ft climbing but 60% of the route was on canal paths.
