Can owners tell whether the crankshaft bushes are significantly worn by feeling for movement in the crankshaft? Will the shaft move up/down by a millimeter or two?
If you put the bike in 'Turbo' it should jump forward as soon as you start pressing on the pedals. I was out riding recently with my wife and a friend riding a cube stereo and a Reaction Pro, both CX powered, both in EMTB mode - they both ended up in the bushes caught out by the eagerness of the...
If the dealer isn't proactive in figuring out the problem I'd ask for a different bike. If they don't know how to diagnose the problem they should at least swap parts for you to try on a ride and see if the problem disappears (eg. different controller, different battery) If nothing else works...
I agree - firm with blue locktite so it can't unscrew. The exact torque figure isn't critical on that component, just needs to be tight enough to stop the chainring moving but not so tight that you damage the threads.
I haven't used purple loctite before but it might be good enough for the...
My Cube Stereo 120 already has blue threadlock on it from new. With the nut being so thin I'd rather stick to the lower torque value with threadlock.
I guess you could also use higher torque but put a new nut on each time.
At least for 2023 new bikes can be purchased at a discount greater than the cost of a new motor - takes a bit of stress out of dealing with warranties, should you have a problem.
When a manufacturer must repay a business
Some problems with products may be the fault of the manufacturer, rather than the fault of the business who sold the product to consumers. For example, if the problem with the product is:
caused by a manufacturing defect
that the product doesn’t meet...
As I understand consumer law in Australia, you are entitled to a new motor free of charge or a full refund on the bike. That said I'd probably work with the shop to arrive at a mutually agreeable outcome, especially if they aren't a large chain store.
How many km's on the motor?
