    All Bosch error codes

That came with the CX Gen4 motor (non smart) which is not know for having the 1:1 error. Newest firmware for that motor is 1.1.5.0 and was available since 2020. I would see my LBS for fault analysis.

    All Bosch error codes

How old is the bike and/or firmware? Some years back Bosch had a 1:1 problem. When chainring and cog on the cassette had identical numbers of teeth, then the system would throw an error. This has been solved for some time now.

    All Bosch error codes

Normally not. Error 503 is a speed sensor fault. I would check the speed sensor cable for correct seating of the plug and the magnet position. 503 Speed sensor fault Solution steps Restart the system. If the problem persists, contact your Bosch eBike dealer.

What's your 27.5" Smart System circumference?

Partly right. The user changeable value only influences the displayed speed to make it closer to actual. The cut-off speed cannot be changed by the user or a dealership. This is a second value coded into the drive unit by the bike manufacturer. Hard to believe - not what you say, but what...

    Kiox and Bluetooth data

With the recent update Bosch has added the functionality to display heartrate data on the Kiox but nothing is recorded. Probably needs another two years of development.

Connect daytime running lights to Cannondale Mavaro Neo 4

For the Gen3 motor Bosch offers a component connector as part of an ABS. That component connector offers two additional connectors. One is intended for an eShift system and the second one for any other 12V 1A device. Maybe the original owner removed this connector. You can see a detailed foto...

    Bosch Rim Magnet tubeless valve

Either Schrader or Presta valves with standard outer diameter will work. They need to be long enough to fit through the magnet and an additional valve nut on top.

    EMTB mode Bosch gen4 cx

Yes. No. The eMTB mode reacts solely to rider input and dynamically moves the support factor between 140% (TOUR) and 340% (TURBO) up and down. To give you an indication how hard you need to work: To reach the maximum of 340% support you will need to input over 190 W when the regular eMTB mode...

Project to enable Bosch + Garmin integration

Bosch uses BLE. The problem is much more basic: Bosch simply doesn’t broadcast any relevant sensor data over BLE based on an industry standard format. They use a proprietary format which only their own displays can read and prefer cable connection over wireless.

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

@Mikerb Thanks for your feedback. As I expected. The latest motor update is V 1.1.5.0 and my bike was delivered with that version in May 2021. With V 1.1.5.0 there came a number of enhancements. I hope you can benefit from the difference. From the Bosch website: “Since model year 2021 with...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

The Nyon from above is the display only. No mount, no cable and no controller. It could be useful for someone who lost his display but not for an upgrade from a different display.. @Mikerb is right. You would need to swap the existing display cable. I have never worked on a Trek Rail and don’t...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

Do you have Tour or Tour+ installed? You can’t see that on the Purion display because it’s not capable of displaying Tour+. You need your LBS to check it with diagnostics. With Bosch motors the main factor they react to is input power, not cadence. The motor will add a percentage of your power...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

Yes, that’s correct. I checked the published configuration of the 2022 Trek Rail 5 and it comes with 165 mm cranks. Therefore I would again recommend to have your LBS install the eMTB mode for short cranks. With that version you will need less power to reach higher motor support levels (in that...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

First, there is no trail mode on Bosch motors, so which mode are you unhappy with? Second, the factory modes (Eco, Tour or Tour+, Sport or EMTB, Turbo) cannot be customized. Neither by the user nor by the LBS. There are only two modifications a LBS can make using the Bosch diagnostic software...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

That makes sense. Bosch calls the older system BES2 (Bosch Ebike System 2) and all new smart systems are called BES3. This is a new grouping above the motor generation which is still gen2, gen3 and gen4. Bosch defines short cranks as 165mm or shorter and all longer ones as regular. Depending on...

    Bosch gen 2 mode profiles

Are you sure about the gen2 motor? According to internet information the 2020 Whyte E180 RS came with the gen4 Bosch CX Performances motor. This can easily be seen, as the gen4 uses the regular large chainring whereas the gen2 had the unusual small chainring with 14-20 teeth. Assuming you...

Bosch 4 Gen: How to know if ligths are ENABLED in SW

The system reserves the amount of battery charge that is needed to power the light for two hours. So internally the light wattage which was stored with the diagnostic system is multiplied by two and that value in Wh will be reserved. Example: The dealer stores the maximum of 18W as light...

Bosch 4 Gen: How to know if ligths are ENABLED in SW

Connect a light to the correct cable and check whether it can be activated. You could also connect a multimeter to that cable and measure the output. It should show 12V when activated.

    Kiox 300 weightloss

You are right. As to the question about retrofitting a bike with mini remote and system controller, that is a different task. It can be done, but where do you mount the system controller? Normally it belongs into a hole on the top of the top tube.

    Performance line CX lights

A1: The light port will shut down when the load exceeds 18W. A2: Below is a picture of the non-smart motor. The plugs on the smart system are in the same location, but they are round instead of rectangular. On most bikes you only need to remove the plastic motor cover from the non-drive side to...
