Is a nice Emtb a bad idea to take camping?

I have a Levo and got crazy about the whole bikepacking camping thing. I worked with the Levo ergonomics from trails to flats. It was good. Then i bought an analog hardtail and took it out on long rides and realized that i did not like to needlessly huff and puff and that with a 700wh battery...

    Colorado eMTB scene?

Hi all, I am contemplating a move to Colorado's Denver-Boulder area from Califorinia (where else?!). I'm drooling at the thought of all those thousands of miles of singletrack. But am unsure of the acceptance of eMTBs on the local trails - esp around small communities. It can be a polarizing...

    Long distance bikepacking

Excellent adventure you have planned. I hope to do similar rides with my turbo Levo here in the usa. Do u plan to carry your tent and sleeping gear or always stay in hostels?

    EMTB and Caravan

I so wish we could get the T5/6 here in the US. All we have are land barges.

    Who is this model?

Guys, i see this Brose ad everywhere and the more i look at it, the more the girl intrigues me. What is her name? Love the expression.

Commencal META POWER 29 ESSENTIAL FOX vs Specialized Turbo Levo Comp

I'm in exactly the same boat as you. The value of the Commencal is great. I don't mind the external battery at all and prefer alloy over carbon anyday. The Fezzari intrigued me but I'm worried that it's their first emtb and the are almost zero indie reviews of it. However my thinking is that for...

    eMTBs and overlanding: some thoughts

I agree, true remote singletrack travel on emtb like the Simpson crossing is next to impossible for a decade atleast, but given how easily it is to stow an eBike inside a vehicle (wheels off etc), i can easily see one an important accessory or a safety system incase the 4x4 fails. For the past...

    eMTBs and overlanding: some thoughts

For the 4x4 crowd Anyone see eMTBs as a neat supplement to long-distance overlanding? I have had 4x4 campers and a jeep, and have ridden multiple months on dualsport motorcycles, but i am seeing a scope with eMTBs to nicely supplement overlanding. The big advantage with eMTBs (or even regular...

    Ebike Desert Challenge 2020

That is pretty cool. I'd love to do that. Looks like it is all europe-centric so far.

What's the most Levo like EMTB (that isn't a Levo!)?

I agree with you there. Decent clockwork bikes cost about $3000 USD these days with a very good spec. A decent eMTB (direct consumer brand) costs about $4500 usd. Thats only $1500 more for a full battery, motor, display, electronics and all the R&D for a stronger chassis. Its quite a bargain...

What's the most Levo like EMTB (that isn't a Levo!)?

Same here. Am comfortable with alloy and the slight weight increase.

What's the most Levo like EMTB (that isn't a Levo!)?

Do you expect any big changes for 2020 levos? I think the 2019 carried all the big changes to the frame, motor, app. What else is left other than componentry spec change?

    Propain eMTB

Looks great, a lot like the Fezzari Wirepeak with the geometry and the custom order option. And they both share the same internal battery.

    new Shimano BT-E8035 integrated batter

That is seriously comforting to know. I'm not too knowledgeable about the bicycle industry. In the motorcycle world, i have no worries about parts in the future because they are so interchangeable across a manufacturer's models and across the industry. I currently ride a 20 year old kawasaki...

    new Shimano BT-E8035 integrated batter

@Rob Hancill What is that other brand that uses the catalog frame? It's a pretty interesting idea - buy frame and build to your taste. How easy or hard is it i wonder for the average home mechanic?

    new Shimano BT-E8035 integrated batter

Yes, a new standard for the internal would be fantastic. For me, future proof means 'rideable' for 5 years. I'm a bit worried that eBikes will create a huge number of bikes with no upgradeable motors and batteries that will end up in the landfill or sit in garages of no use to anyone. Perhaps...

    new Shimano BT-E8035 integrated batter

I see a whole bunch of obsolete bikes. Personally i prefer the external battery for simplicity and future proof-ness

Shimano vs SRAM drivetrain components for direct consumer bikes

What do you mean by geo-blocking ? Can't i order parts from where i please? Or does it have to only from my LBS if under warranty?
