Also - my brilliant wheel builder has been onto Hope. Obviously the Marin E2 is a C/Lock rotor, but for some strange reason Hope haven't got this option for the e-bike specific rear pro 5 hub - so he is going to use a 'normal' pro 5 rear hub but swap the alu freehub for the E-bike specific steel...
Yeah, maybe I was being a bit fan boyey 🙂. Fairly sure I'll notice the bit of weight loss on rotating mass though and that plus hope pro 5s over the stock Shimano ones should be at least some improvement. I'll find out in a couple of weeks.
Maybe, maybe not, not so much the rims but the hope hubs are supposed to have zero drag so it may help and if not?....well .. at least they'll be blue 😁👍
Yeah, the new pro 5 sounds like quite a big improvement on the 4 (which I loved anyway) - the wheel build comes in at just short of £600 so I'm going to go for it I think. The Marin is a great bike for the money, but you can bet your bottom dollar that like every other manufacturer, the in house...
Sorry to resurrect, but on the pro 4s on e bikes - is it possible they just aren't designed for e-bikes? I'm looking at an HX531/538 combo on the new pro 5's (one version of which are designed for e-bike use).
I'm based in the UK and am concerned I may be hit with import taxes. Thinking of getting some Shimano FC-M8150 cranks from them to replace the e13's that came on the EP8 shod Marin E2.
Anyone know of anyone in the UK doing them for a decent price?

Managed to get an external link to download the app onto my oppo android. The sussmybike gizmo is all set up on the 38's ready for tomorrow. It did a great job setting up my Ibis Mojo, once the forks are sorted I'll try it on the DHX2 shock, if I can work out how to set it up on there, not a lot...

Yeah, Suss my bike was a start up company - which is great but if they fail you often get this - where the item you bought in good faith is no longer supported by the integral app and is therefore useless.
I used it 2 years ago on my then new Ibis Mojo and it did a great job, such a shame.
