I've got the original mudhugger and like others gave said, it works a treat as long as you leave it at stock length..... but it is fugly. I switched to a much less obtrusive zefal defender rs75 which hugs the wheel instead and it is just as good TBH. I keep an enduro guard on all year anyway...
I found several comments from supposed experts who couldn't set it up and one who got a refund. I ran mine for over a year and 2000 miles on 2 chains and it ran sweet all the time despite the wear (read on). Actually that's not quite true, it died after i had a terminal "stick meets mech"...
Same with mine - the dial appears to rotate only for novelty value. On the bright side, any close encounters with trailside foliage that accidentally "increases" it makes only the barest of difference and it doesn't end up being locked out. :)
I went for the Box Prime 9 setup but that also has a wide range so not quite the same reason as you. On paper it looked a great idea and I only binned it when my mech lost an argument with a tree (not impressed with the pivot wear but that's another story....). Chain durability seemed a little...
I used to use a hex bit too but then realised you don't need to use the cranks, you can just turn the chainring by pushing the arms with your spread fingers.
+1 Buzzrack
BUZZ RACK Eazzy 3
Cheap, sturdy, foldable. 60kg max load. I re-drilled the locating holes so the folding posts fitted the bikes better without fouling the motors. Effectively a custom fit for my 2 bikes so they fit perfectly every time. ;)
Ah yes, I remember the days when we used to be able to buy stuff in Europe without hassle and extra costs. My grand children will never believe the stories I will tell them.....
Muddyfox | Cycle Glove Adult | Accessories | SportsDirect.com mine are grey but same thing. Used to be able to regularly get them for about a fiver in the various sales but I've not seen them for less since covid. ?
Tons if gorse here in pastyland - I feel your zimmerpain! My fave gloves for protection are muddy fox ones from sports direct. It seems like a neoprene and fabric material on the backs of the hand and upper fingers. Whatever, they very effective and are better than all the others ive tried...
Ditto after 30 years of MTB. I think it is the state of the trails leaving them a foot deep in muddy water after the biblical winter rain. Ebiking means I ride more and in filthier weather than on the analogue bike.
Switched mine out for marine grade stainless steel ones today as an experiment to see how long they last. Hopefully longer than 6 months which is all I got out of the stock ones from new.
Same as you, plus mini leatherman tool, zip ties, electrical tape and spoke key (good for valves too). Not forgetting my emergency jacket, haribo, flask of tea and a pack of Viennese whirls. ?
