Anybody tried something larger than 2.6 on the rear? I'm thinking of trying a 2.8 Minion DHR, but guy at Commencal did not recommend it, he thought it might be too big.
The only suggestion I have, is since it's your 1st mtb and you have a kid (which will limit your trail time), is to get a commencal with a cheaper spec. The money you save can be used to buy nice bikes for your kids.
I've only had mine for a month+. The longest ride I did was 36 mi, some very technical and steep, 4550 ft elevation gain. 5.5 hrs, mostly eco, but a fair amount of trail, then boost when I was on the way home, until it dropped to eco for the last mile ( < 1 bar). Several rides with 2...
My wife and I are both about 5'10" and test rode the medium and the large. My wife has long legs (34") so it's hard to get a good fit for her. We both liked the medium better because it felt snappier. The 125mm dropper post that comes with the medium was too short for her, and maybe too...

They were at the top of my list, not sure now. Good price and coil spring shock. +$500 & no coil spring for the essential. I don't mind buying without a dealer network, but there has to be a good savings. Also it's too bad that the coil spring shock is only available on the top model.
I know I'm exposing my US ignorance, but I've never heard of this company before. Is it a respected company in europe? How long have they been selling in the US? Anybody on this forum, in the US buy one? It looks like they don't have any dealers, but they sell online.
