There are some great builds here and for fireroads, forestry access tracks and mild single track green/blue routes they would be fine. The OP mentions a DH bike. Using a kit on a DH bike to give yourself a powered uplift then hurtling down proper DH routes and I think you'd spend more time...
Many years ago a I converted a Marin full suss with a cheap kit(I'm a below knee amputee and struggle on big climbs). It did work but it's a world away from the capabilities of a modern ebike
I'm near Biggar so ride local trails, Pentlands, Glentress. Travel to Dumfries and Galloway quite a bit so manage Kirkroughtree, Glentrool and general D&G forest track. Family in Dufftown so up north a wee bit for Aviemore, Glenlivet, Fochabars etc
