why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

But i do set it up by testing bottom out....

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

If I wasn't hitting the big stuff I'd probably change that to 90% for regular riding. I'm still a firm believer of you should soft bottom on your hardest hit.

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

I hope they do take my advice. It is suspension set up 101. Go test your suspension for small bump compliance, mid range and then at bottom out. If you don't test bottom out haven't correctly set up your suspension. How do you know what extra amount you have in the tank if you dont test? Go...

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

I set my suspension up to bottom out 9n my biggest reasonable hit. If it doesn't then you might as well have a lesser travel fork.

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

Doesn't feel like busing binding to me. Air pressure and tokens is what you should use to set up support. That is the primary spring rate. Any way. I'm happy with my Zebs. I have them working how i want. No binding or spiking with a good amount of progressiveness and dampening to get 80%...

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

my experience is opposite to yours. Custom tuned forks/shocks excluded i pretty much wind most dampening out on all my suspension to get them faster and less harsh.... therefore they are over damped.

why such low pressures in the Zeb's?

Add tokens and remove air because they progressively ramp up more. If you remove a token you will need to add pressure in. I'm running the following at me 76kg in my birthday suit. Voima 25kg ebike 190m zeb 2 tokens 55psi Rocky slayer mtb 14kg 170mm zeb, 1 token 60psi Side note. I never...

How much difference does "better" suspension actually make?

I have learnt over the years that the best suspension is worth the money for me. I cant set the mid range suspension up to how I want. But I am a suspension whisperer. If it is slightly out from how I like it, I can feel it. I have mates that just jump on bikes and ride them and cant tell if...

    Settings between different stroke lengths

No is the short answer. Also its mostly about leverage ratio rather than travel. IE Shock stroke length to travel. Then the suspension kinematics. Two bikes with the same travel, same shock stroke but different kinematics can have radically different settings.

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

You are correct except I also need buttery smooth aswell. This is one type of trail I ride. The other is steep rooty rocky natural tech. For the natural tech I need buttery smooth but not too much fork dive.

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

Yeah everyone is different. That's why proper set up testing is important. As I've said before. Test bottom out on your biggest it. If you are plush and softly bottom on your biggest it... boom that is perfect set up.

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

I'm going to agree for lighter and less aggressive riders. I'm bottoming my on my hardest hit. But I can't feel the bottom. Its buttery smooth. So that is perfect set up as far as i'm concerned. I needed 2 tokens at 80kg. But I am sending some features with reasonable size. So need extra ramp...

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

Go test it to bottom out and find out. That's suspension testing 101 for. Dial small bump. then hit the biggest feature you are brave enough to hit and find out. Bottoming too soon. More tokens required.

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

How many tokens do you have. I need 2 at 80kg with riding gear. That will be your next test. Tedt bottom out and up the if you bottom out too soon.

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

IMO hsc assists reduction in bottom out but you need the correct air spring rate for your weight for that biggest drop that you do. LSC reduces fork dive on things like jump faces but to not hold the fork high if the air spring pressure is too low. First step. Set the air spring correctly...

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

I think you need to go back to basics. Pump pressure in, measure the sag. Set sag at 25% Find a datum sections of tracks. one for small bump compliance one for bottom out testing. Ride at 25%sag is it compliant over small bumps? if not let more air out. If yes good. Go to your bottom out...

Zeb ultimate 2023 170mm harsh ride

Are you super heavy? 100psi is crazy pumped up. I'm running 57psi at 80kg soaking wet on my 190mm zeb. Also look at tokens/volume spacers. That will get the fork ramping up nicely so you can let some pressure out and get more butter on small bump compliance.

Well we will get to differ. When buying online through a discount house you take the discount, but with that discount comes a level of risk/inconvenience that you dont have when ordering through the lbs. Many people take the discount, but then seem supersized and whine when that...
